One of the World’s most controversial scientists, British Biologist Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, will be giving a discussion on his latest book: “The Science Delusion: Freeing the Spirit of Inquiry” and “The Science of Psychic Phenomenon”.
Author of 80 scientific papers and 11 books on controversial subjects such as, “The Physics of Angels”, “The Sense of Being Stared At”, and his most recent book “The Science Delusion”, his 2013 TEDtalk was ‘banned’ by TED after an outcry by mainstream scientists. In this discussion he will show how the sciences are being constricted by assumptions that have hardened into dogmas. Should science be a belief-system, or a realm of inquiry? Sheldrake turns the ten fundamental dogmas of science into questions, opening up startling new possibilities. For example, the “laws of nature” may change and evolve. There is considerable evidence of a collective consciousness of all life forms. Our minds and memories may extend far beyond brains.Sheldrake argues that science would be better off, and more free, interesting and fun without its dogmas. Addtionally, he will share some of his extensive research into the Science of Psychic Phenomena and how it’s much more common than most people think. Frequently in the press he’s been featured on “Through the Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman, Heretics of Science on the BBC, A Glorious Accident on PBS and recently he did a full length interview on NPR’s “To the Best of Our Knowledge.”
